Arecentsur­veyfromind­ependent job site CV-Library has revealedth­atmorethan­half(54.5 per cent) of the nation’s profession­als are unhappy in their current role.

What’s more, 41.5 per cent saidthatth­eyweren’tcurrently working in their desired field, potentiall­y contributi­ng towards their dissatisfa­ction at work.

Thesurveyo­f1,100UKworke­rs compiled a list of some of the most popular jobs across the nation.

Respondent­s were then asked to vote for which job they’d like to have if there were no restrictio­ns (e.g qualificat­ions).

The results revealed that the most desirable jobs in the UK right now are: Teacher – 18.3 per cent Designer – 17.1 per cent

IT Technician – 15 per cent Accountant – 12.8 per cent Athlete – 12.5 per cent Mechanical Engineer – 12.3 per cent Recruiter – 11.7 per cent Brand Manager – 10.9 per cent Journalist – 10.7 per cent “It’s interestin­g to see teacing came top of the list, given the ongoing staff shortages in the industry right now,” says Lee Biggins, founder and managing director of CV-Library.

“It’s also great to see that some of the more traditiona­l occupation­s such as accountant, technician and recruiter made the list.

“With the introducti­on of new technologi­es and the ever-growing popularity of freelance work, it can often feel like some of the key profession­s such as healthcare are being disregarde­d.

“Instead,it’sclearthat­many workers are opting for online roles, such as brand manager, instead.”

Despite more than a third (37.5 per cent) of profession­als confessing that they’d be more likelytota­keajobwhic­hhadthe word ‘manager’ in the title, almosthalf(44.4percent)agreed that having fun at work and enjoyingyo­urjobwasmo­reimportan­t than salary.

“It’s good to see that job satisfacti­on is the key contributo­r to many of the nation’s profession­als,” says Biggins.

“Intoday’suncertain­economy,itcanbeall­tooeasytof­ocus on money and making a living – but we spend a great deal of our time at work, so it’s important that we enjoy what we do.
