Carnival weekend in Seaham

Preparations are under way for three days of packed entertainment at Seaham Carnival.

The celebrations start on Friday at 4pm, when the food village and drink and makers and bakers villages open on the Terrace Green.

A yoga demonstration and fashion show will run from 5pm, then a double bill on the big screen of The Greatest Showman and Dream Girls.

On Saturday, it starts at 10am with a craft and food village.

Dawdon’s Emma Acrobatics group will perform at noon, followed by Mary Poppins and Coco on the screen, then live bands from 5pm.

On Sunday, the food and drinks village will welcome guests from 10am, followed by an interactive superheroes show, then the Starz Dance Group, with a show by In Your Face Theatre to round off the early afternoon programme.

A host of live tribute bands will then perform.

A climbing wall and stalls will be set up during the event.
