Everton closing on £50m Richarlison
Everton are closing in on a deal for Watford forward Richarlison which could eventually total £50million.
Richarlison played for Toffees boss Marco Silva at Vicarage Road, having signed for the Hornets from Fluminense last August.
The 21-year-old Brazilian scored five times in his opening 12 Premier League matches, but did not find the net again for the rest of the campaign.
Silva, who was finally installed in the Goodison Park hot seat earlier this summer, remains a big admirer of the player, however.
It is understood that the total deal being brokered could reach £50million, provided several add-on clauses are met on top of an initial down payment of around £35m.
The transfer is expected to be completed early next week and would represent a significant return on the £11.5million investment Watford made a year ago. Huddersfield Town have landed Monaco’s French midfielder Adama Diakhaby. Boss David Wagner enthused: “He is a very hungry young footballer with a strong desire to succeed in England. “He’s a direct player who is comfortable with the ball at his feet and with genuine pace, which suits our style perfectly.”
Brighton have signed South Africa striker Percy Tau from Mamelodi Sundowns on a four-year contract – and will loan him out for the upcoming season. Boss Chris Hughton said: “He is a player we have highlighted for the future and there is no doubting his talent.
“Percy will go out on loan, play regularly and get experience of European football.”
