U15 girls hit by double T20 agony
Durham Under-15 girls slipped to two defeats in their County Championship T20 Group One campaign at Stocksfield.
First up, against hosts Northumberland, Durham lost by 22 runs.
Lizzie Scott (31), Harriet Robson (22) and Emily Whiting (26no) led Northumberland to 124-9 in 20 overs, after reaching 91-2.
Holly Spoors starred with 4-7 for Durham, backed by Ella Tomys (330), with Lucy Hughes and Chloe Dennis also striking.
In their second game, Durham went down by 32 runs to Lancashire.
Lancashire struggled to 83-8 in 15 overs, with Sophia Turner making 18.
Three run-outs were added to by Madeleine Atkinson (2-15), with Jessica Woolston, Kelsey Potter and Dennis also striking.
Durham, though, found it hard going in their reply and they closed well short on 51-5, with Dennis 10no.
The T20 disappointments followed a 116-run County Championship defeat to Yorkshire.
The Tykes posted 189 all out in 38.4 overs, led by Katherine Walker (32no), Katie Baines (24) and Francesca Goldthorp (23).
Tomys took the bowling honours with 4-29, with Spoors bagging 2-15. Atkinson, Hughes, Dennis and Potter also took wickets.
Durham responded with 73 all out as only Katie Barrett (18) offered much resistance to the Tykes.
Daisy Stokoe stole the show with a haul of 4-14, taking the wickets of four of the top five in the batting order.
