Surgery set to shine in UK awards
A Wearside dental practice has secured its place as the best in the North East after winning a place in a national awards event.
Church Street Dental Practice, based in Houghtonle-Spring, was nominated into the Talkology Media TMP Awards and is now looking forward to the finals.
Practice manager Kate Farrell believes they were nominated for their “above and beyond” service.
She said: “We were nomintated for our excellency in customer service and customer care, it’s not the most exciting thing for people to come to the dentist but we try to make it nice for people.”
The team were voted the best dental practice in Sunderland earlier in the year.
They were then informed they had won the regional competition and a place in a national final.
The TMP awards are split into categories and each is assessed by independent judges.
Church Street is under the health and beauty group.
Three other surgeries are up against the practice in the finals, which will be held in Surrey on December 21.
Kate said she prides the surgery on its follow-up service, ensuring each customer is well the day after their appointment.
She said: “Some patients feel nervous coming in for their appointment, so we ring the following day to make sure they’re alright.”
The surgery’s social media presence also plays a huge part in keeping their customers up to date.
Kate added: “We’re not hoping we’re going to win, we are going to win!”
