Northern League Division Two

-

Washington FC manager Ollie Hotchkiss was a frustrated figure after his side’s 3-0 defeat at Crook Town.

Hotchkiss is still without a competitive win since taking over as Mechanics boss this summer and they currently sit bottom of the Ebac Northern League Division Two table.

A Nathan Stephenson brace and a goal from Phil Caley made it three league defeats in three games for Washington but Hotchkiss believes that they deserve more from theirs efforts so far this season.

“It was the same old story for us because there wasn’t that much between the two sides,” said the Mechanics boss.

“The results in every league game we have played have flattered the opponents and we are getting closer to getting points.

“Crook didn’t deserve to win the game by the 3-0 scoreline but life is tough for us at the moment.

“We have a number of players missing and I don’t mind saying they are key players like Craig Hennis and Callum Smith.

“Once they are back we will improve and pick up points.”

Hotchkiss has also reacted to his poor start with the signing of winger James Norton from Whickham.

Chester-le-Street Town continued their impressive start to the season as Cameron Nicol hit a hat-trick in their 7-2 home hammering of Northallerton Town.

That result leaves Colin Wake’s side in second place in the table, with only Billingham Town keeping them off top-spot.

Town also hit seven on Saturday as Jack Connor scored twice in their 7-0 demolition of ten-man Bedlington Terriers.

Easington Colliery are the third side to maintain their perfect start to the season.

Jack Pounder and Liam Adamson got the goals in their 2-1 home win over Jarrow FC.

Two Jonathan Wright penalties left Billingham Synthonia still looking for their first point of the season as they succumbed to a 2-0 defeat at Heaton Stannington.

Redcar Athletic made club history on Saturday with their 4-0 win over Durham City.

Adam Preston scored twice and Stuart Browne and Lance Skelton got one each as the newly-promoted side secured their first three points as a Northern League club. Birtley Town took a point from their trip to Willington with a 1-1 draw and Esh Winning also had to settle for a point as they held West Allotment Celtic to a 2-2 draw at Druid Park. A first-half Jasper Scott goal condemned Thornaby to their first defeat of the season as Ryton and Crawcrook Albion left Teesdale Park with all three points.
