After reading the story in the Sunderland Echo, and speaking to the Rev Simon Gundry, regarding the struggles of Sunderland Food Banks, Julie Mulvaney, Slimming World Manager of the Sunderland East Team and consultant, knew her group would be more than willing to help out. Julie messaged her members before the group meeting began and she wasn’t disappointed by the response. Some 130 of her group members rallied to support the cause and by the final meeting there were bags full of goodies ready to be taken to the bank. The Rev Simon Gundry then arranged the delivery to Sunderland Food Bank. Other consultants on Julie’s team are now following her groups’ example and encouraging their members to do the same.
