Croucher shoots down title favourites

Wear United silenced Division Three title favourites Millfield Oddies with a 6-4 success, inspired by Jack Croucher.

Croucher was called upon from the bench and soon scored a hat-trick for United to set them on their way.

Oddies replied through Richie Timm and a Paul Maw hat-trick.

However, Wear United made sure of the win with further goals from Meikle, Tate and Sam Wade.

A Mark Smith treble earned Washington Blue Bell a valuable point against Witherwack after being 3-0 down.

Penshaw CC moved up the table after seeing off Lakeside SSC 4-3.

Both Snelling and Priestman scored two apiece.

However, they did breach the Penshaw defence with goals coming from Middlemiss, Waterson and Thompson.

Millview CIU moved up to second spot in the league with a dominant 8-2 win over Millfield Free Gardeners.

Hutchinson scored twice for the Gardeners, but his goals were in vain as Millview had a host of names on the scoresheet.

Millview’s scorers were Hagan, Hardy, Hall, Raeburn, Roberts, Conlin and a brace from David Laing.

Velocity’s search for their first Division Four victory of the season goes on after their latest 4-0 defeat at the hands of Hall Farm Doxy Lad.

The Doxy Lad swept them aside and claimed the three points on offer, thanks to goals from Liddle, Duggan, Glenwright and Clifford.

Carpets Carpets Elite drew first blood in the top of the table clash with Ashbrooke Rosedene as they edged the game 3-2.

Brown and Hope-Hindmarsh scored Rosedene’s goals but Robinson, Catcheside and Chris Robins scored vital goals to win it for Elite.

Lewis Robinson scored the only goal of the game as Washington United edged out Washington Cherry Tree.

Whitburn Panthers claimed a 2-1 win over AFC Houghton 2-1.

Morrison scored for Houghton in between goals from Bays and Armstrong.
