Sunderland RCA moved into the top seven of the Northern League Division One table after they came from behind to secure an impressive win at West Auckland Town last night.

Martin Swales’ side got off to a poor start as Tom Price put the hosts ahead on nine minutes and they held onto that lead until half-time.

RCA improved massively after the interval and got back on level terms thanks to a close-range finish from Michael Charlton.

The win was sealed with 20 minutes left when Mark Davison fired home a penalty to make it three league wins in a row for the Meadow Park club.

Seaham Red Star took a point from highly-rated opposition for the second week in a row as they held Shildon to a draw at The Ferguson Motors Repairs Stadium.

Daryl Hall headed the Railwaymen into the lead on 74 minutes but Mark Collingwood’s men got the point that their performance deserved thanks to new signing Dan Wilson’s second goal in as many games.

Managerless Durham City are still looking for their first win since the opening day of the Division Two season after they were beaten at Hall Lane by Northallerton Town.

Striker Wayne Greziak took charge of the Citizens on a caretaker basis following the departure of former manager Mikey Weston.

But he watched his side condemned to a 2-0 defeat by from Josh Keogh and Chris Dickinson.

The result leaves City sat second from bottom in Division Two and they have failed to find the back of the net in eight of their 10 games in all competitions this season.

Washington failed to build on their impressive win at Easington Colliery as goals from Joe Scaife-Wheatley, Paul Blake and Lewis Murphy gave Thornaby a comfortable 3-0 win at Nissan Sports Complex.

The defeat leaves the Mechanics in 16th place in the table.

Hebburn Town Reserves continued their impressive start to the Wearside League season with a 5-0 home win over Richmond Town.

Adam Sharp gave the Hornets an early lead and Josh Houghton doubled their lead on the 15 minutes.

A Ryan Bolam penalty extended the lead to three on the half-hour mark and the midfielder doubled his tally on the hour.

Shaun Reay rounded off another impressive display from Kevin Bolam’s side with a fifth goal with 20 minutes left as they moved four points clear of secondplaced Wolviston for at least 24 hours.
