We’ve got a pair of tickets to give away for this weekend’s match, which kicks off at 3pm on Saturday at the Stadium of Light.
The tickets for the game, which will see Sunderland AFC take on Rochdale FC, are the latest in a series we’re giving away for home league games this season.
This will be the first time the two sides have met in a senior league fixture. The only other occasion the teams met was in 2016, when Rochdale beat Sunderland’s Under-23s side on penalties in the EFL Trophy.
Rochdale have never been higher than the third tier of English football. In fact, the club holds the distinction of having played the most season in the Football League without either reaching the top two divisions, or being relegated to the National League.

The competition will be drawn at 9am on Thursday, September 20 and the winner will be contacted by telephone.
If we are not able to contact the winner before 5pm that day another name will be drawn.
The winner, or a representative, will need to be available to collect the tickets from the Echo offices, which are based in Rainton Bridge Business Park, in office hours on either September 20 or September 21. Once the competition is drawn all entries are deleted and are not passed on to a third party.
