Cats can enjoy the cream!

- By Richard Ord

“We’re on our way, we’re on our way!”

You are probably saying ‘don’t get carried away’ - but why not?

Look, Sunderland fans had so many years of torment , so let’s just enjoy this while we can.

Yes, it’s not the Premier League or even the championship - but you are watching winning football, you’re third off top and it feels good, right?

Now the last couple of games have had some talking points - not least two sendings off!

Two sendings off that could have cost us dearly. Max Power has made some big mistakes - but let us not comdemn the guy.

He was straight on social media apologising for his mistake. Some people said it was virtually the same as he said following his last sending off - but he didn’t have to do it.

He made a mistake, he knows he needs to improve on how he reacts to situations - but he didn’t kill anyone!

His manager, whois doing a great job by the way, will work with him to sort that - and you have to trust him to do that.

But what was really impressive was the way the team as a whole reacted and dug deep for the win.

It was a massive three points and it leaves the black Cats third from top as the march forward continues.

Take time to enjoy this . After the last few years, who knows what surprises lie ahead over the weeks and months. But this is all positive surely.

One of the best quotes I’ve seen after game from a Sunderland fan was: “cheer up lads - we could have been 2-0 up and then lost 3-2!”

It might be still Premier League football along the road - but they are certainly not celebrating that at the minute.
