Detroit Social Club release new material

nostalgia, reminiscing about the shows that they will have come along to in the past, and that’s why it was important for me to release new music as soon as possible.

“It was really important to me that this was about new music, and not just dining out on peoples old favourites.

“The EP is a mix of new songs and a couple of old ones we never released. They sound good, I’m happy with them.

“It just feels like the album for bands like us is almost dead, and doing a full album would have taken ages. We really wanted to get a body of work out there right away made sense to us, to release the first batch as a part one.

“I like the idea of drip feeding material to people as it gives them more time to listen. These days people don’t have the time to listen to a full body of work properly before they have moved on to the next one. This way, we think they will.

“By the time they have the complete thing, they will understand most of it already and be able to appreciate each part of it.”

Detroit Social Club will self-release Fragile Creatures Part One via all good digital stockists and in CD format followed by Fragile Creatures Part two. Both parts of the forthcoming series will be available on limited edition vinyl in April 2019.

David Burn, the man responsible for tracks and fan favourites such as Northern Man, Black & White and Chemistry, adds: “I’m just enjoying creating again and experiencing people and gigs again. I’m too old now to be chasing any success, and even the definition of that word now is so different than what it was. We’re taking each day as it comes and embracing every minute.”

Detroit Social Club have announced a string of UK live dates, including a North East gig at The Ku Bar in Stockton on November 30.
