Pet care workshops for kids

-

Washington families are being encouraged to take their children to a free hands-on pet course.

A series of pet workshops will be held this half term at Pets at Home to entertain families and educate children on caring for their pets.

Pets at Home Washington will be hosting ‘Creature Care’ workshops from October 22 to November 2.

The workshops are designed to teach the next generation of pet owners how to look after their animals responsible and keep children busy throughout half term.

Jennifer Henson-Fisher, store manager at Pets at Home Washington, said: “Our Creature Care workshops are designed to teach young pet lovers about responsible pet ownership, whilst having lots of fun at the same time.

“Our expert colleagues will offer tips and advice on pet care, whilst making the workshops both interactive and educational.”

Children will learn about the five welfare needs – shelter, food and water, good health, appropriate company and the right living environment. There will also be the chance to interact with some of the pets in-store.

Children will receive an activity booklet, stickers and a Fishy Friends double-sided poster to keep them busy after the session has ended.

The Washington store is based at the Galleries Retail park. To book, visit petsathome.com/petworkshops.
