South Hylton continue to lead the way after latest victory

South Hylton B continued their excellent start to the Danby Autos Sunderland Snooker League season with a 5-0 win at home to Biddick B.

Ian Stewart won the first frame against Paul Cobb, before a 27 clearance saw Bobby Boyce win the second frame when beating Peter Mills.

Tony Hazard won the third frame before John Harrison continued his good form to beat Alan Brunton.

In the pairs, a 27 break by Boyce, when paired with Paul Buckley, won Hylton the frame, beating Phillip Straughan/Tommy Rutter 73-38 to complete the clean sweep.

Seaham Conservati­ves A welcomed The Victory and started well with Michael Monaghan continuing his unbeaten start to the season, seeing off Alan Hough.

Ray James quickly levelled, before a 33 break helped Ian Hughes move Seaham back into the lead.

Les Pinder potted well to win the fourth frame before Ray James/Darren Dowell won the pairs against Paul Lauder/Pinder 49-39 to reduce the defeat to 3-2.

A 32 break saw Justin Ebdy get Murton Officials off to a good start away at Lumley.

However, Neil Lowden levelled the match when beating Stephen Cook with the aid of a 23 break.

Bobby Carne moved Murton back into the lead before a 29 break helped Brian Meuse level the match once again.

In the pairs, Roful Hoque/ Meuse won Lumley the match beating Justin Ebdy/Cook 6841 for the 4-1 win.

South Hylton A travelled to Boldon CA and started well with Adam Smith winning the first frame, but that was as good as it got.

Boldon fired back through John Smith, Joe Cromby, Michael Grieveson, whil in the pairs, Graeme Ablett/Cromby beat Smith/Graham Rutland 65-47 for the 4-1 win.

Norman Brown got Mill View off to the prefect start at home to Glendale winning the first frame before Howard Lax won the second frame.

John Spruce potted well to win the third before John Wiseman won a close fourth frame beating Steve Chandler on the final black.

In the pairs, John Danby/ John Wiseman beat Chan- dler/Spruce 65-29 to reduce the defeat to 3-2.

Pennywell Comrades B travelled to Steels and started well with Anthony Longstaff winning the first frame, while Andrew Doran won the second frame.

Aaron Duncan potted well to win the third frame against Ray Charlton Junior, before a shortage of players by Pennywell handed Steels the fourth frame.

In the pairs, a 46 break by Tommy Feenan, when paired with Vince Flynn, helped win Steels the frame beating Duncan/Doran 65-43 and reduce the defeat to 3-2.

In the other game to take place in the league, Pennywell Comrades A stormed to a 4-1 victory over Seaham Conservati­ves B.
