What’s it like living in the city? Let the council know

Sunderland City Council is asking residents their views on living in Sunderland, the issues affecting them and council services in a survey going out this week.

Copies of the 2018 Residents’ Survey will start landing on the doormats of 10,000 randomly-selected households across the city in the next few days.

The aim of the survey is to provide a snapshot of what residents think about a wide range of topics including: Living in Sunderland; People’s views on the city and their community; The City Council and its services; Online services; Their own employment and skills;

home; Their health and wellbeing. Findings from the survey will be used to inform how the City Council will support local people, will help shape services and will influence the work it does with a wider set of organisations. These will be available in spring 2019.

Coun Graeme Miller said: “I’d encourage everyone invited to take part in this survey to do so, because the information they provide is really valuable in helping us agree priorities for the city and shape how services are delivered in future.

“We very much value people’s views and I’m looking forward to finding out what they think on a wide range of issues.

“I know everyone leads busy lives, but I’d ask anyone who receives the survey to take the time to fill it in and send it back to us either using the paper form or the online link so that we can take their views into account.”
