Weight loss changed their lives

- By Richard Ord

Well done to super slimmers Fiona Williams and Lee Walt who lost 20 stone in weight between them after Fiona’s harrowing pregnancy.

Fiona was given the devastating news that their child may not survive and because of her high BMI and low fluids there we no clear pictures of the scan for doctors to see the problems.

At 18st 9lb and a size 24, Fiona was told by a consultant that she should prepare to lose her baby naturally in a matter of weeks – or that if her child made it to full term – they had as close to a 0% chance of the baby surviving.

Thankfully the 41-yearold went on to give birth to ‘little miracle’, daughter Jessica Williams, who was born eight weeks prematurely, back in March 2015.

But the experience shocked the couple who were frightened that their unhealthy lifestyle could also affect their daughter’s life, and they sprang into action.

The couple signed up to Slimming World in 2016 and have transformed themselves, with Lee losing 12 and a half stone – half of his previous weight.

Fiona has shed around seven and a half stone.

Now their huge weight loss has meant that they are now able to run around after their daughter, now aged three.

Lee said: “After having Jessica we decided that we needed to do something or we wouldn’t see daughter grow up, because of the way that we were going.

“She was our inspiration we wanted to lose the weight so that we could run around after her and play with her and do all the things parents normally do.”

It’s pleasing to report on a happy ending to what could have been a tragic story and also tell of the weight loss that changed the lives of a whole family.
