TERRIFIC THOMPSON PUTS WEST END ON CLOUD NINE

Alex Thompson fired in four goals as Sunderland West End enjoyed a comfortabl­e 9-1 win over East Durham Blues.

West End also had Joseph Goodwin (3), Kian Patton and Oliver Dixon getting on the scoresheet, with the Blues responding through Cole Crane.

Dylan Purvis (2), Alex Bell and Morgan Breward scored as Easington Colliery beat South Shields Blues 4-1.

South Shields replied with a goal from Finlay Neary.

Ryhope CW and Murton Colliery played out an entertaini­ng 2-2 draw.

Ryhope had Aidan Duke and Josh Small on target, with Murton hitting back through a Mason Tarrant brace. Fulwell United came out on top in a stunning 13-goal thriller against Washington Lions.

Fulwell saw Matthew Green (4), James Boyle (3) and Liam Johnson score the goals in the win.

The Lions hit back through Joseph Hepworth (2), Charlie Kidd, Coulson Callum and Daniel King.

HFC United Whites were made to work hard for their 3-2 victory over Willington Youth.

Jake Boiston (2) and Fletcher Potter edged HFC to the win. Kyean Blackburn and Nathan Ferris scored the goals as Boldon Colts Whites beat Corbridge United 2-0. Seaham United blew away Deerness Valley Hurricanes in a 6-0 success.

Dougie Henderson, Leighton Scott and Mark Armstrong all bagged braces in the win. Jack Hassard and Lee Holmes both scored three apiece as Hetton Lyons eased to an 8-0 win over Newton Aycliffe Youth Falcons.

Jack Turnbull and Joshua Booth completed the scoring for Hetton.

Houghton Albion Whites had Jude Lawless (3), Daniel Fenwick and Jack Espie hitting the net against Durham United Tigers, winning 5-2.

Tigers hit back through George Richardson and Paavo Eerola.
