Who could Black Cats face in next round?

While Sunderland’s place in the FA Cup third round is not secured yet, they will be in the hat for the draw this evening.

The Black Cats will face Walsall in a replay on Tuesday, December 11 (7:45pm kick-off ) - with both teams set to discover their potential third round opponents before the replay.

44 clubs from the Premier League and Championsh­ip will join the competitio­n at the third round stage, meaning a money-spinning tie is a possibilit­y for the Black Cats.

Walsall and Sunderland will be ball number 61 in the draw, which will be made at 7:30pm this evening.

Sunderland could face any one of these clubs in the next round - provided they get past Walsall:

Ties will be played on the weekend of January 5 meaning that if Sunderland progress, their league fixture away at Charlton would have to be rearranged.

The Black Cats could also secure a welcome financial boost if they reach the third round, with £135,000 in prize money available should Sunderland beat Walsall and then their next opponents.
