Bobby’s on the ball in Hylton View victory against the Mill

Bobby Boyce was in fine form as South Hylton B beat Mill View 4-1 in the Danby Autos Sunderland Snooker League.

After Ian Stewart beat Howard Lax to put Hylton ahead and before John Harrison won the fourth frame against Steve Chandler, Boyce’s 29-break was enough to overcome Norman Brown 77-40 and, paired with Paul Buckley, further breaks of 67 and 27 saw Boyce have the better of John Spruce and Chandler, Spruce with the View’s sole point.

Bobby Carne got Murton Officials off to an excellent start at home to South Hylton A, winning a black ball first frame against Graham Rutland 62-59 before Gavin Dixon levelled the match, winning the second against Justin Ebdy 87-45.

Eddie Williamson beat Adam Smith on the final black before Stephen Clementson potted the final two balls to win the fourth frame against Steven Thompson.

In the pairs Smith and Dixon beat Carne and Robert Lamb.

Seaham Conservati­ve A started strongly against Biddick A with Gary Stockton winning the first frame against Graham Smith 54-42 and Ian Hughes potting well to win the second against Stephen Tate 63-31.

Rod Turnbull pulled one back for Biddick winning the third frame against Michael Monaghan 42-28 before Les Pinder continued his good form to win the fourth frame against David Adamson 75-35.

In the pairs, Adamson and Tate beat Hughes and Les Pinder 55-29.

The match between Steels and Glendale was expected to be close and the singles alternated into a 2-2 situation before Glendale took the pairs for the overall 3-2 result.

Breaks of 52 and 25 helped Tommy Feenan win the first frame for Steels, beating Thomas Gwyn 80-42, before a 25 clearance saw John Danby level the match beating Ray Charlton Senior 70-64.

John Wiseman moved Glendale into the lead winning the third frame against Ray Charlton Junior 69-49 before Jimmy Gales again levelled the match winning the fourth against Paul Atkinson 40-30.

In the pairs Danby and Wiseman won Glendale the match beating Tommy Ayre and Vince Flynn.

Pennywell Comrades A travelled to Lumley and started well with Joe Turner winning the first frame against Sean Henderson 57-44 and Kevin Harrop winning the second against Neil Lowden 63-40.

Andrew Drinkwater potted well to win the third frame beating Dean Taylor 54-38 before a 24 break helped Brian Meuse level the match, winning the fourth against Stuart Taylor 72-60.

Steve O’Wellen and Taylor stopped the comeback, winning the pairs against Roful Hoque and Meuse 48-22 to clinch the 3-2 win.

Alan Brunton got Biddick B off to a good start at home to The Victory winning the first frame against Alan Hough 70-12 before Peter Mills won a close second frame against Bobby Smith 69-56.

Darren Dowell potted well to win the third frame against JohnTemple­onthefinal­black 53-49 before Tommy Rutter won the fourth frame beating Ray James 64-30.

Mills and Paul Cobb won the pairs, beating James and Dowell 86-30 for the 4-1 win.

Sadly, the match between Boldon CA and Seaham Conservati­ves B was postponed due to a shortage of players by Boldon.
