Sedgefield St Edmunds remain top of the Swinburne Maddison Solicitors Durham & District Sunday Premier Division following a 2-1 home win over Chilton WMC.

The visitors led through Liam Blighe but were pegged back either side of having a player sent off.

Burnside WMC are third despite a 2-0 defeat at Durham County, for whom James Huntley scored twice.

And Sherburn Village are fourth after a 4-2 win at Ouston Cherry Tree.

Chad Brennan gave the Cherry Tree a third-minute lead, heading home Paul Chilton’s cracking corner.

Sherburn hit back twice before half-time and again shortly after through Glenn Hendrix (2) and Tom Young, Josh Fryer reduced the arrears but Jamie Taylor sealed Sherburn’s win.

In Division One, Brandon Sports Club beat Ouston Juniors 3-2 despite missing a first-minute penalty.

Club made amends shortly after through Robert Halliday, but Juniors hit back via Liam Hedley and Scott Johnson before Scott Bryden and Corey Haslam won it for the Club.

David Winter and Robert Draper gave Sacriston WMC a 2-0 victory over Chester-leStreet Garden Farm RAR.

Washington Westwood beat Dubmire WMC 3-2.

Michael Donkin put Dubmire in front, but Phillip Marriott, Ross Docherty and Craig Crosby struck back before a late Dubmire penalty.

Lumley Snooker Club extended their lead over Sherburn Village WMC at the top of Division Two to six points with a 6-2 win at their second-placed rivals.

Lee McBeth opening the scoring for the Snooker Club but by early in the second half the Villagers led, only for McBeth to add two more followed by further goals from David Tyson (2) and Paul Botchaby.

Belmont Club won 5-0 at a depleted Bede Lodge Social Club thanks to goals by Richard James Begg (3), Daniel Hatton and Matthew Petts.

An even affair between Grange Villa and Lumley FC was settled on 53 minutes, when Liam Mitchell set up Micky Gray, who controlled well, cut inside and fired into the far, top corner.

Sedgefield Corner House took an early lead against Hetton Social Club through Luke Gibson, before Hetton had a man sent off yet made light of the disadvanta­ge to lead 3-1 at the break.

Sedgefield got back into it through Phil Reynard and Adam Phillips, but Hetton nicked the win from a late corner.

Framwellga­te Moor WMC beat Lambton Lions 4-3, Jack Harper, Jamie Arthurs and Matthew Rowntree on target for the Lions.

In Division Three, Kyle Quinn’s goal was enough for Ferryhill Community Hub to win a scruffy game against Durham Rangers.

Spennymoor Volitgier beat Hetton Social RAR 4-1, Andrew Dolphin and Michael Donohue with a brace apiece and Rhys Joseph Wilson on target for Hetton.

Bowburn won 5-3 at Houghton Chilton Lodge, who took an early lead through Gav Mulvaney and an Iain Mac wondergoal.

Bowburn levelled by halftime with goals from Ben Johnson and Gareth Saville, Mulvaney struck again but Bowburn won it through Gavin Swankie, Josh Chilver and Zack Pearn.

Hetton New Inn won 4-1 at Peases West thanks to James Noble (2), Jonathan Eves and Jordan Knox.

In the second round of the D&P Trophies Knockout Trophy, New Brancepeth WMC won 3-1 at Pelton Crown Inn.

A sloppy start to the game on a muddy pitch in very windy conditions saw John Kidd open the scoring for Brancepeth from the penalty spot.

In the second half, Kidd and Andrew Nicholson extended the lead to three, before Pelton hit back with a late consolatio­n goal.

And in the third round of the Workwear Express Durham League Cup, Newton Aycliffe Iron Horse beat Houghton Town 4-1.

Sam Joyce opened the scoring for the Horse, and Mark Wood added another from the spot following a foul on Corey Nicholson.

Houghton hit back with a 25-yard effort from Kyle Davis, butthe Horse sealed victory with goals from Joyce and Shaun Ryder.
