South Hylton B started well at home to Boldon CA in the Danby Autos Sunderland Snooker League, with Ian Stewart winning the first frame against John Smith 66-41 and Bobby Boyce winning the second against Derek White with the aid of a 26 break, 64-31.

A 22 break helped Graeme Ablett pull one back for Boldon winning a black ball third frame against Tony Hazard 65-64 before John Harrison won the fourth against Mark Fox 61-25.

In the pairs, Boyce and Paul Buckley beat Smith and White 90-45 for the 4-1 win.

Graham Rutland got South Hylton A off to a good start away to The Victory, winning the first frame against Darren Dowell 74-61 before Adam Smith won a black ball second against Les Burnikell 85-75.

Ray James pulled one back for The Victory winning the third frame against Gavin Dixon 71-50 before a 28 break helped Chris Robson win the fourth against Bobby Smith 72-36.

In the pairs, a 38 break and a 25 clearance by Adam Smith, when paired with Dixon, won Hylton the frame beating Bobby Smith and Billy James 98-46 for the 4-1 win.

In the club match between Seaham Conservati­ves A and B, Michael Monaghan won the first frame for the A team beating Robin Midson 56-42 before breaks of 22 and 40 helped Gary Stockton win the second against Tony Grimes 101-36.

Doug Scott pulled one back for the B team beating Ian Hughes 42-22 before Colin Dobson levelled the match, winning the fourth frame against Les Pinder 78-42.

In the pairs, Hughes and Monaghan won the A team the match beating Grimes and Dobson 58-52 for the 3-2 win.

Lumley welcomed Biddick A and started well with Sean Henderson winning a black ball first frame against Graham Smith 45-42 before Stephen Tate levelled the match, winning another black ball frame against Brian Meuse 53-51.

A 22 break helped Andrew Drinkwater win the third frame against Rod Turnbull 57-21 before Roful Hoque increased the lead winning the fourth frame against David Adamson 56-31.

In the pairs, a break of 26 by Meuse and a 26 break by Drinkwater helped win Lumley the frame beating Tate and Adamson 64-33 for the 4-1 win.

In another club battle, Pennywell Comrades B got off to the perfect start against their A team with Eddie Dodds winning the first frame against Kevin Harrop 59-35 and Anthony Longstaff winning an excellent frame against Dean Taylor 80-40.

Andrew Doran won the third frame against Joe Turner 58-38 before Steve O’Wellen pulled one back for the A team, winning the fourth against John Campbell 66-38.

In the pairs, Stuart Taylor and Steven Smith beat Longstaff and Dodds 48-40 to reduce the defeat to 3-2.

Murton Officials beat Glendale 3-2, while Steels’ Thomas Feenan won the first frame against Mill View’s Carl Davis 82-52 before Howard Lax levelled the match, winning the second against Tommy Ayre 55-39.

John Spruce moved Mill View into the lead, winning against Ray Charlton Junior 63-56 before Stephen Chandler won the fourth against Jimmy Gales 43-19. In the pairs, Norman Brown and Spruce beat Vince Flynn and Charlton Senior for a 4-1 win.
