Sheila is a slimming inspiration

- By Richard Ord

Seven out of 10 New Year resolutions are about improving our health.

Whether it’s cutting down on alcohol, doing more exercise or giving up smoking, what is needed is a combination of willpower, determination and belief.

All three can be found in super-slimmer Sheila Smith who lost almost half her bodyweight in four years.

That most of our resolutions barely last a month, is usually due to a failing in one of the three essentials to success.

But Sheila could provide the inspiration to others to achieve their goals.

As she tells us today, the secret of success is all about making little changes.

But those little changes can make a huge difference to your life.

Aged 44, Sheila was heading for a future of serious health problems.

She said: “I was 44 and I thought if I don’t do something now I am looking at having a heart attack by the time I’m 50.”

Weighing in at 20 stone six pounds, she had been told by doctors that her high blood pressure was going to cause her problems.

After joining Slimming World and making small but significant changes to her lifestyle she was able to slowly shed the pounds and turn her life around.

This was no crash diet fad, it was a steady, measured weight-loss programme that produced results.

Losing weight is the second most popular New Years resolution, and Sheila reckons anyone can achieve their goals with just a little effort.

“If I can do it anyone can,” she tells us today.

And if you’re looking for inspiration to achieve your goal, just look at her incredible pictures.

Sheila, take a bow.
