Northern League Division Two

-

Jarrow FC joint-manager Dave Bell has warned his side to guard against complacency when they face Division Two strugglers Durham City.

The South Tyneside outfit are looking to inflict a 17th consecutive defeat on the Citizens at Hall Lane tomorrow, but Bell insisted his side will still face a tough challenge if they want to continue their push for a top-four place.

He said: “Although Durham are currently sitting bottom of the league, we know that any team can beat each other in this league, so we need to get back to the way we know we can play.

“We are sixth at the minute, but we know that can quickly change if we do not apply ourselves in the right way.

“There will be changes to the team that started against Redcar as we look for a positive reaction from our squad.

“Durham are looking for points also, so this will be another tough game for us.”

The Citizens could hand first starts to new signings Thomas Brown and Matthew Jones after they joined the club in the last fortnight.

The Division Two weekend gets underway tonight as Esh Winning entertain Crook Town at West Terrace.

The hosts are without the suspended Sam Steele as he serves the second game of a three-match ban.

On Saturday, Washington will look to make it consecutive league wins for only the second time this season when they visit Redcar Athletic - having beaten Easington Colliery 5-0 last time out. A one-match ban has ruled Brennan Ball out of Easington’s trip to struggling Brandon United. Leaders Billingham Town make the long trip to West Allotment Celtic without long-term injury-victims Reece Keeney and Jamie Davis. However, they could hand a first start to defender Joe Carter after he impressed as a substitute in the 1-0 win at Northallerton Town.

West Allotment will hand another start to former Heaton Stannington midfielder Shane Jones after he scored twice on his debut in the 2-2 against Chester-le-Street Town.

Two sides in the top four meet at The Calvert Stadium as Northallerton Town entertain Thornaby, and fifthplaced Heaton Stannington travel to Bedlington Terriers.

Seventh-placed Willington could move within a point of the top five with a win at Ryton & Crawcrook Albion, and Billingham Synthonia will look for a second win in the three games as they head to Birtley Town, who are 15th.

0 Sixth-placed Jarrow FC’s goal difference is zero (0)
