Love in the air for nature

Love will be in the air at a Wearside nature reserve on Valentine’s Day.

On February 14, Durham Wildlife Trust has organised a guided Walk round its Rainton Meadows reserve.

The love Birds event will start at 10.30am and those taking part will learn about the birds on the reserve, their habitat and how people can get involved to help them.

Trust guides will provide the chance to see everything from lapwing, snipe and tree sparrow to chaffinch, bull finch and wigeon.
