STORY: Row continues over council subsidies for Spice Girls concert and other gigs at Sunderland’s Stadium of Light
Bill Walton: £4million return. Where does his accountant live fantasy island.? If no other council is offering incentives why is Sunderland. In the meantime the council are closing Sunderland Alzheimer’s service which helps carers.
Robert Hudson: Is 50 thousand not a cheap price to pay to promote Sunderland, might even attract another car manufacturer to the city.
Keith Hood: Small price to pay for putting Sunderland back on the concert map. The show would only have gone elsewhere. Some folks are never happy.
Helen Watson: Why are we giving them 50 grand when other cities arent giving them
any money to come?? Cardiff isn’t known for their concerts yet the spice girls are going there and their council havent thrown £50k at them.
Tony Smith: Madness.
