The licensed Lounge Bar is open at various times and is also available for functions. At Boldon and Cleadon Community Library, various groups and workshops have now been launched. A calligraphy workshop session will take place on Tuesday, March 12, from 1pm to 4pm with Angela Reed, which costs £25 per person. It includes all materials and a starter kit to take home. Contact info@creativecalligraphy.co.uk stating your name and the date of the workshop. This Creative Calligraphy session is being held with a view to running a course in the spring. If you can’t make this event but would be interested in attending the course, please email info@creativecalligraphy.co.uk West Boldon Residents’ Association has arranged a social outing for members and friends in The Wheatshaf in West Boldon at 1pm on Sunday, March 3, for a carvery Sunday lunch. The next monthly meeting of the group will take place on Wednesday, March 13, at 10am in The Wheatsheaf in West Boldon. An Easter Eggstravagaza Activitiy Day has been planned to take place at West Boldon Lodge Environmental Centre (near Testo’s roundabout on the A19). The Easter Bunny has been early and he has left some tasty treats for all the children. There will be an ‘eggciting’ Easter egg trail and a quiz to follow through the woodland, chocolate nests to make and plants to plant, as well as a special visit from a fluffy friend. Suitable for ages three to eight. The cost is £8.50p per child and sessions are Wednesday, April 17, and Thursday, April 18, from 10am to noon and 1pm to 3pm.
