Plastics Golightly into the cup final at the expense of a Penny

Hylton Castle TC Plastics are into the final of the Joe Holborn Memorial Cup.

The Plasticmen beat Pennywell Comrades 4-3 in the last four, though the Comrades admirably held their own against the might of their opponents.

Jonny Greener, Josh Dick and Jordan Howell fired past Ryan Graham in the Hylton goal.

But the Premier League side were in brilliant form and overturned the deficit with the excellent Golightly running the show, and Hope, Drysdale, Wooton and Nelly Wright on target to send Hylton into the final.

In Third Division Subsiduary Cup Group A, Oddies won 8-0 at a makeshift Millview CIU.

A hat-trick by Paul Webster was supplement­ed by goals from Richardson, Brad Timm, Fryatt, Richie Timm and Yates.

Wear United lost out on a semi-final spot after only managing a 1-1 draw with Witherwack.

Daz Green scored for the Wackers and United earned a point when Croucher struck.

In Group B, Washington Blue Bell won 3-2 against Grindon Broadway.

Dunbar, John Smith and Mark Smith earned the Blue Bell victory.

Grindon battled all the way and Aaron Clasper scored twice to give them hope.

In the Fourth Division Subsiduary Cup Group A, Ashbrooke Rosedene remain unbeaten and look favourite to claim the trophy.

They hammered Whitburn Panthers 11-1 to record their fourth consecutiv­e win with hat-tricks from Winlow and Hope-Hindmarsh, while Collinson scored a brace and Swinney, Helens and Brown one apiece.

Danny Brown scored Whitburn’s consolatio­n.

In Group B, AFC Houghton registered another win, 2-1 over Velocity Burton House.

Haggerston­e and Morrison fired home before Conlin scored for the House.

And Hall Farm Doxy Lad secured their semi-final spot with a 4-1 win over Washington North Biddick.

Richie Duggan, Dupear, Glenwright and Carl Duggan sent Doxy Lad through to thelast four, and Jack Flasby replied with a clinical penalty for North Biddick.
