Steels make light work of Seaham Conservati­ves B

Steels surged to a stunning 5-0 win over Seaham Conservati­ves B in the Danby Autos Sunderland Snooker League.

Lee Norton got Steels off to a winning start against Robin Midson 57-29, before breaks of 27 and 36 helped Tommy Ayre win the second frame against Harland Davidson 92-16.

Ray Charlton Junior won the third frame, before a shortage of players by Seaham meant Steels won the fourth frame.

In the pairs, Jimmy Gales/ Vince Flynn beat Midson/ Davidson 69-41 to complete the clean sweep.

Boldon CA also completed a clean sweep against The Victory, thanks to winning frames from Derek White, Mark Fox, Graeme Ablett and John Smith.

Ablett/Fox then won the pairs frame when beating Ray James/Darren Dowell 66-52 to complete the whitewash.

Leaders South Hylton B welcomed Murton Officials and started well with Ian Stewart winning the first frame before Stephen Cook levelled the match.

Bobby Carne moved Murton into the lead, before a 23 break helped John Harrison again level the match.

In the pairs Carne/ Stephen Clementson beat Harrison/Bobby Boyce 52-43 for an excellent 3-2 win.

Seaham Conservati­ves A claimed a 4-1 against Biddick B, thanks to Gary Stockton, Michael Monaghan and Les Pinder. John Temple replied for Biddick.

Ian Hughes/Pinder won the pairs when beating Philip Straughan/Peter Mills 71-41 for the 4-1 win.

Terry Froud got Biddick A off to an excellent start at home to South Hylton A, before Stephen Tate won the second frame.

Adam Smith pulled one back for Hylton, before Graham Rutland levelled the match.

Steven Thompson/Smith completed the comeback when winning the pairs against David Adamson/Rod Turnbull 86-43 for the 3-2 win.

Lumley got off to a winning start at home to Pennywell Comrades B with Neil Lowdon winning the first frame, before John Campbell levelled.

A 24 break helped Alec Hannan move Lumley back into the lead, and Brian Meuse won the fourth frame.

In the pairs, Andy Doran/ Campbell beat Meuse/Lowdon 74-36 to reduce the defeat to 3-2.
