Callum goals give Hope to South as they Stack up win

by increasing their lead at the top of the table to four points with an 8-1 home win over Sunderland Railway Club.

Chris Winn repaid his manager for a wellearned start with two fine goals, followed by two from Josh Winthrop.

Railway managed a solitary strike from Forster but Plastics continued the scoring with goals from Gordon, Golightly, Wooton and Cresswell.

Grange Park moved to the top of the First Division sponsored by Hakitak Pet Laundry Ltd with convincing 5-0 home win over The Board Inn.

Luke Bell and Marc Moon both hit braces, Lee Smith with the other goal.

That result leaves The Board stuck at the bottom of the league table, still searching for their first points.

In the Second Division sponsored by Ringtone Mobile Phones and Tablets, Washington FC are looking invincible as they recorded their seventh league win out of seven, beating Ashbrooke Rosedene 2-1 away to race nine points clear at the top.

Stephenson and Arthurs scored for Washington, Rosedene replying through Luke Helens.

Lakeside SSC beat Michael Smith’s Wear United 3-2 at home to draw level with them in the table.

Lakeside are enjoying their best-ever form, and are now finding it hard to lose.

Cowrie and Sproat found the net for United but two goals from Crossland got the Lakeside back in the game before Murton won it for them.

Lakeside dedicated victory to Paul Stephenson, who recently celebrated the birth of his daughter.

Hendon CW recorded their first league win of the season with a tight 2-1 victory over relegation fodder The Victory Club.

Martin Ghandi Hope bagged another goal for Hendon but McDermott replied for Victory before stalwart David Newby was on hand to slot home a lastminute penalty and claim an important three points. In the Third Division Sponsored by DST Shutters, AFC Houghton are proving to be a different animal this season and their winning streak continued after they beat Washington Cherry Tree 2-1.

Hot-shot Stan Ogunsuyi was on hand again, scoring twice to earn maximum points for Houghton, while the Cherries had Liam Carter reply.

The flags were out for Park View as they finally earned their first league win beating Grindon Broadway 1-0.

Layton Conley hit the only goal. And in the Fourth Division sponsored by Colin Archbold Painters and Decorators, The Avenue inflicted an embarrassi­ng 11-2 defeat on Cross Keys.

Ashworth and Hodgson both struck hat-tricks, while Drinkald, Richardson, Powell, Brook and Dawson inflicted further damage.

Smith and Jones replied for the away side.
