Pacifica streamlines workflow with new tech
A Sunderland-based appliance repair group is pioneering new technology to benefit the environment and boost productivity of its nationwide team of engineers.
Stockton-based development firm Sapere created a bespoke web application for Houghton-based support services organisation Pacifica Group to help it streamline its work on a national scheme to reduce carbon emissions and fuel poverty.
Pacifica, whose work centres around the electrical appliance and domestic heating markets, is supporting energy suppliers to install more ecofriendly options in homes as partoftheGovernment’sEnergy Company Obligation (ECO) scheme.
The new task management software,whichincludesamobileapptoallowsurveyorsand installers to record jobs while carrying out work in customers’homes,hasreceivedanear 100% accuracy rate according to customer satisfaction tests.

Paul Drake, operations director of Sapere, said: “The processing of jobs for this particularworkstreamwasmanualwithlittleautomation.Many reports became out of date quickly due to the time it took to produce them.
“Thesolutionwedeveloped enables all tasks to be managed in one place, from the initial customer enquiry right through to payment and aftercare. Automatic emails and text messages are sent from the system to keep in touch with customers so the status of a job can be tracked at the click of a button.”
