Patient survey gives top marks to hospitals
South Tyneside and Sunderland NHS Foundation Trust patients have responded very positively in local surveys on hospital and community health services.

The survey also took in maternity, outpatients and A&E services and patients using mental health and community services. Among the findings were: *97% of patients would recommend the Trust
*Overall satisfaction with mental health services was 99%
*Overall satisfaction with community services was 98%
*98% of women would recommend the Trust’s maternity services
*98% of day patients or those attending an outpatient department would
recommend the services
*97% would recommend the ward they had treatment on
*95% of patients felt they were treated with kindness and compassion

Melanie Johnson, the Trust’s executive director of nursing, midwifery and allied health professionals, said:
“Whilst the responses from our patients in recent survey are very positive and encouraging, we are never complacent.
“Our aim is to continuously improve our services for patients and their families and carers, from their very first contact with us right through to their safe discharge from our care.”
