The Sunderland community has thanked NHS staff and other key workers for their dedication and support during the coronaviru­s outbreak.

June Pace: NHS our army against this germ war. All NHS, clinical, back office, Admin, IT, management, porters, patient transport, catering, volunteers and Social Care workforce need medals at the end of all of this for their sacrifice and hard work to protect the vulnerable and sick. Selfless people. NHS World Class and proud to be part of it for the last 33 years - don't ever privatise. Sue Wardhaugh: Utmost respect to you all and a massive thank you to you all for all you are doing to get our country through this terrible time. I hope that when this is all over people continue to show the respect and appreciati­on you all so deserve...well done guys you do us proud xx
