STORY:

Sunderland fans have delivered their strong verdict on Stewart Donald, his plans to sell the club and whether the squad should consider taking a pay cut.

Ian Storey: Pleased to see majority of fans would like Donald to stay! Yes, he has made some mistakes but he has learned a lot and he knows what the supporters want and I believe he will achieve it, if not this season but next is the grim reality.

Phill Tee: I like the bloke, clearly loves football and took on a basket case of a club just 18 moths ago. What they have achieved since then in restructuring etc has been huge. Hope he is here for a long time to come, having a billionaire owner is what landed us in this mess.

Nick Gilks: I like Stuart Donald and would like him to stay in control but find new backers. I think we have to be patient. I’m not remotely bothered about what happens at Newcastle. Everyone is getting very excited but I think the fans should be careful what they wish for.
