B&Q defends decision to reopen 14 stores. Stores will be open between 8am and 5pm and cashiers will only be accepting card and contactless payments to minimise the risk of viral transmission.

Mark Brown:

SOCIALD ISTANCING...justuse common sense. Everyone still goes to the shops and petrol stations etc. If anywhere can open and can be safe, then why not. As others have mentioned there are plenty other places open. The amount of people I see working in groups outside, and traveling in full work vans is insane.

Paul Colly Collinson:

Good idea to open to be honest diy will help peoples mental state and keep them busy idle hands and all that . Also if you know what you need before you go in and they treat it like asda or tescos it should be fine.

Rodney Dorrian:

Ability stores in leechmere hasn't shut its doors since the start of the virus no monies are taken just cards ,and 2 mtr guide lines introduced since it started.

Callum Barraclough:

While being in a “lockdown” for more than 3 weeks I can guarantee most people’s mental state will be off the charts especially people who live by them selves.

Val Cousins:

Why is B&Q opened? It not necessary.

Graeme Collinson:

Sod it just open the pubs and restaurants! Open everything again keep our 2m distance wear your designer masks and plastic gloves everything will be ok won't it?

Susan Redpath:

Can’t be any worse than the supermarkets? People need things to maintain their houses, decorating and gardening can be good for mental health.

Olga Bradley:

Some people don't have cards and contactless w whatever. I think it might be illegal to not accept the Royal mints money.

Karl Gray:

See this not just going to be about for weeks it's gonna be months. Lock down should be lock down no ifs buts or maybes. No wonder it's still spreading and people dying

Christine Henderson:

So why only 14 if they open 1 they should open all or none people will end up travelling
