Empire shows postponed till the end of June

-

All performances which were due to take place at the Sunderland Empire have been suspended until Sunday, June 28.

The Ambassador Theatre Group (ATG) who manage the Sunderland Empire have announced that all shows across their venues will be postponed until the end of June.

Performances at the city centre theatre have been suspended since Monday,

March 16, after Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced that the public should avoid “non-essential” travel and crowded places.

A statement issued by ATG said: “Due to COVID-19, we are sorry to confirm that all performances at Ambassador Theatre Group venues across the UK have been suspended until Sunday, June 28.

“If you have made a booking that is affected by this suspension, you do not need to do anything. We are currently contacting people whose original tickets were for performances up to May 31 and handling all requests and enquiries for those customers.

“Over the next two weeks we will be contacting customers beyond that date.”

The group have also said that if a production is successfully rescheduled, customers will be automatically moved to the new dates and contacted directly with details.

For shows which are yet to be rescheduled or cancelled, customers will be issued with a refund or a full credit voucher – which is valid until the end of December 2021.

You can find more details and advice on how to claim a voucher or refund for a cancelled show by visiting the Empire website.
