Readers give their views of the “road map” Prime Minister Boris Johnson sets out for our future and dealing with coronavirus.

Joan Moore: I thought it was honest and fair. To many people doing what they want with no thoughts of any consequences. He gave us a little something and a plan we can all follow but at the end of the day the results we get, the reduction of sanctions all comes down to us, to our behaviour. Follow the rules so we can come through this. Don’t disrespect those who have lost their lives do what's required.

Ian Chrystal: Yes you right about people not following rules but he can stop that by being tougher like Spain.

William Gillis: Johnson is certainly doing what he wants with no thought for the consequences. The reduction in infections will not come down to us it will come down with adequate PPE and a testing regime which is not a complete shambles.

Ann Smith: I felt more reassured than expected.

Lucy Greenwell: For everyone saying why

didn’t he mention when we can see family, surely you can see it’s impossible to put a date on that at the moment. If he told the nation the 1st June everyone would hold him to that.

Vicky Adams: As a parent, ex teacher, married to a teacher, I am waiting to see the 'details' of how children can go back to school. Kids must socially distance - love to see them explain/enforce that to 4yr olds! So your kids/family who've been following the rules will now be mixing with kids whose families haven't been, and bringing their germs to your home. How many kids in a class? My husbands school have worked out they can get between 8-10 in with the social distancing enforced. 6 classrooms needed just for y6 kids!

Lynn Elliott: So some people are encouraged to go back to work. Schools are opening for reception and year 6. What about the children of these workers. Are they to be put in a cupboard under the stairs? Also if you don't drive and have to get to work on public transport will employers expect people being late because they all cannot get onto a bus.

William Gillis Shambolic and confusing when we needed a clear steer from government.
