STORY:

Superdrug is now offering coronavirus antibody blood tests via its Online Doctor service.

Anna Masheter: Please be careful. These tests will only determine if you have had the virus in a short window, there is no data produced to evidence at what level antibody needs to be produced to ascertain immunity. There is an assumption currently that you cannot get COVID more than once however until more is known data wise on the level of antibody to produce immunity I would be cautious before purchasing. (Yes I work in the medical field and my sole job at the moment is COVID response) Any kits Public Health England want us to use as standard would be released by them at no cost.

Lynn Elliott: I agree. All the test will show is if you have had the virus. Not all the tests are 100% accurate anyway. There is so much that we don't know about this virus including how long immunity lasts. Please just keep following the rules. Vickie Louise Wood: I would love to no how shops can now send out this when us NHS staff are still awaiting on the approval of these tests. Just be careful getting these as they may not be accurate. Oline Elisabeth Jenner: People who work in shops should get it free.

Rachael Louise: Price £69 is relatively cheap. Rather live and be tested then die. This is also coming from someone who's actually recovered from COVID-19 too.

Deb Chisholm: I heard the government were to eventually be sending these tests to every household to see who’s had it, so I wouldn’t be rushing out to buy just yet.

Liz Wilson: I watched the news and Government said free one will not be offered to general public, only front line workers, so another push at privatisation.

Gillian Simpson: People on benefits won't pay at that price.

Vicky Leithes: Benefits or not. People working won't want to pay that either.

Avril Turnbull: Why not just go to the doctor and ask if it's 100%
