Another patient dies from coronaviru­s

NHS England has confirmed that one further patient has died at Sunderland and South Tyneside NHS Foundation Trust.

NHS England figures released yesterday, show that one more person with coronaviru­s has died at Sunderland and South Tyneside NHS Foundation Trust, bringing the total deaths at the trust to 318.

A total of 1,310 deaths have been confirmed across the region’s hospital trusts; a rise of six since Tuesday.

Nationally, a further 183 people who tested positive for coronaviru­s (COVID-19) have died, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals in England to 26,049.

Patients were aged between 43 and 101. Two of the 183 patients, aged 81 and 91, had no known underlying health condition.

Deaths are announced on an NHS trust level – there is no public breakdown of the number of deaths per hospital.

According to the figures from NHS England, the breakdown of the number of deaths of people who tested positive for coronaviru­s at North East hospitals includes:
