No new virus deaths in the last 24 hours

NHS England has revealed there have been no new coronaviru­s-related deaths at Sunderland and South Tyneside NHS Foundation Trust.

NHS England figures released yesterday, show no new coronaviru­s-related deaths in the last 24 hours at Sunderland and South Tyneside NHS Foundation Trust, meaning the total deaths at the trust remains at 318.

A total of 1,317 deaths have been confirmed across the region’s hospital trusts; a rise of seven since Wednesdy.

Nationally, a further 185 people who tested positive for coronaviru­s (COVID-19) have died, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals in England to 26,234.

Patients were aged between 28 and 99. Five of the 185 patients, aged between 65 and 96, had no known underlying health condition.

Deaths are announced on an NHS trust level – there is no public breakdown of the number of deaths per hospital.

According to the figures from NHS England, the breakdown of the number of deaths of people who tested positive for coronaviru­s at North East hospitals includes:
