Sunderland update season card plans and hail loyalty of support
AFC today issued the following update its supporters on 2019-20 season cards and 2020-21 renewals.
“Throughout what continues to be an incredibly challenging period, the club has consulted various supporter groups to ensure fans’ voices are heard and that they are represented in any decisions made.
“Like all clubs, Sunderland
AFC has incurred the cost of a full season without receiving theprojectedrevenuethattypically comes with it, but we recognise that supporting those who support us is paramount.
“As a result, the club can confirmthatfanswithexisting season cards will be eligible to apply for a refund should the 2019-20 season be curtailed.
“In the event that the current campaign is completed behind closed doors, season card holders would be given a free streaming pass for all remaining home fixtures.
“Once clarity on the completion of the 2019-20 season has been provided by the EFL, further information will follow.
“Despite the unprecedented uncertainty surrounding the resumption of professionalfootballintheUK,thousands of Sunderland AFC fans have already thrown their support behind the club by renewing for the 2020-21 campaign.
“This is an unparalleled demonstration of loyalty at a time when your support is more important than ever.
“It is very much appreciated, and it will not be forgotten.
“2020-21 season cards will remainonsaleattheearly-bird rate until further notice and supportersutilisingtheDirect Debit scheme are advised that the first payment will be processed on Wednesday 1 July.
“The deadline to buy or renewusingtheDirectDebitplan is Thursday 11 June.
“Of course, the impact of COVID-19 transcends football and we appreciate the enormous toll it continues to take on our supporters and our community.”
