Sunderland update season card plans and hail loyalty of support

AFC today issued the following update its supporters on 2019-20 season cards and 2020-21 renewals.

“Throughout what continues to be an incredibly challengin­g period, the club has consulted various supporter groups to ensure fans’ voices are heard and that they are represente­d in any decisions made.

“Like all clubs, Sunderland

AFC has incurred the cost of a full season without receiving theproject­edrevenuet­hattypical­ly comes with it, but we recognise that supporting those who support us is paramount.

“As a result, the club can confirmtha­tfanswithe­xisting season cards will be eligible to apply for a refund should the 2019-20 season be curtailed.

“In the event that the current campaign is completed behind closed doors, season card holders would be given a free streaming pass for all remaining home fixtures.

“Once clarity on the completion of the 2019-20 season has been provided by the EFL, further informatio­n will follow.

“Despite the unpreceden­ted uncertaint­y surroundin­g the resumption of profession­alfootball­intheUK,thousands of Sunderland AFC fans have already thrown their support behind the club by renewing for the 2020-21 campaign.

“This is an unparallel­ed demonstrat­ion of loyalty at a time when your support is more important than ever.

“It is very much appreciate­d, and it will not be forgotten.

“2020-21 season cards will remainonsa­leattheear­ly-bird rate until further notice and supporters­utilisingt­heDirect Debit scheme are advised that the first payment will be processed on Wednesday 1 July.

“The deadline to buy or renewusing­theDirectD­ebitplan is Thursday 11 June.

“Of course, the impact of COVID-19 transcends football and we appreciate the enormous toll it continues to take on our supporters and our community.”
