Charity launches a virtual fundraiser

-

A charity is asking families to use their daily exercise to help raise vital funds.

Children’s Heart Unit Fund (CHUF) has launched its first Virtual Toddle – a challenge for children to clock up a sponsored one mile however they want.

It is in place of CHUF’s annual Toddle event which last year saw 400 children and their families gather for the one mile “toddle”, raising more than £25,000.

Families are being encouraged to complete the Virtual Toddle together and share photographs with CHUF on social media.

All organisers ask is that virtual toddles are completed by the end of June and social distancing is followed.

Charlotte Campbell, director of fundraising and operations at CHUF, said: “Our Toddle is such an enjoyable day and we’re really sad it can’t go ahead, but we’d love to see families still get involved with their own version at home and make this year’s Virtual Toddle feel like a huge online community!

“This is one of our major fundraising events of the year and our Heart Families need us now more than ever, so we’ve done everything we can to make it as easy as possible for people to take part.

“We’ve created a downloadable fundraising pack filled with ideas of how people could complete their toddle, guidance on how to set up their fundraising page, a sponsorship form and other ways to raise money. We are all ready to take on our own toddles with our families.”
