-

Three men have been arrested on suspicion of burglary after a home in Sunderland was targeted in the early hours of the morning.

Detectives investigating the burglary are appealing for residents in the Hill View area of the city to check CCTV and dashcam footage.

It was reported that a group of men entered an address in Myrella Crescent before making off with house keys and car keys shortly before 2.30am yesterday morning.

An investigation was launched and officers have arrested three men – aged 39, 37 and 35 – on suspicion of burglary. They remain in police custody and are assisting detectives with their inquiries.

Now officers have appealed for any residents who live in the Tunstall Hill, Ashbrooke and Hill View areas who have parked dashcam footage to check their systems and get in touch if they spot anything suspicious between 1am and 4.30am.

Detectives are especially interested in hearing from residents living on Shirley

Gardens, Crosslea Avenue, Leechmere Road, Glenesk Road and Myrella Crescent.

Police have trawled through hours of CCTV footage from the area and have also carried out house-to-house inquiries as part of the investigation.

Police have also asked any motorists who were travelling in that area in the early hours of the morning to check their dashcam footage.

Anyone with information that can assist the investigation is asked to contact police by ringing 101 or using the ‘Tell Us Something’ page of the force’s website quoting log 63 050620.
