Dalton Park ‘busier than expected’ first week

Dalton Park has experienced a “busier than expected” first week of trading following the coronavirus lockdown.

Dalton Park reopened on members of the public on June 15 as the lockdown lifted for “non-essential” shops across the country.

Following the reopening, bosses at the outlet shopping centre have said that they experienced a “busier than expected” week.

The centre’s marketing manager, Louise Thompson said: “We are running at a reduced capacity so social distancing can be followed but we had a busier than expected week.

“Despite this, it has been manageable for us and it has meant that people have not had to wait for too long in queues.”

A total of 36 stores at the centre have now opened, along with the drive-thrus at Mcdonald’s and KFC.

Management have also welcomed a Morrisons petrol station to the site, which opened earlier this month.

Jerry Hatch, the centre manager at Dalton Park has expressed his delight to welcome shoppers back to the outlet mall.

He added: “We opened the doors last week and so far, feedback from the shoppers has been very positive with many saying they feel confident in the arrangements we have put in place.

“We are fortunate that Dalton Park is an outdoor centre and we have reasonable space to accommodate social distancing, whilst still creating an enjoyable shopping environment.”

The centre have confirmed that strict sanitisation methods are in place and bosses are aiming to improve visibility at the centre – with CCTV being used to prevent bottlenecks.
