Around 2,000 jobs are being cut at Royal Mail as the group announced a management overhaul to help slash costs in the face of the coronavirus crisis.

Lynne Marie Watt Currie: Strange how all businesses are now blaming the pandemic for job cuts our postman has literally been run off his feet, we have had post early instead of teatime, the amount of postal vans that has been n the area shows how hard they have worked, it's a disgrace for them now to loose their jobs, wish they would stop blaming the pandemic as an excuse to loose jobs.

Gary Ablett: It’s the pandemic that’s caused it though. Private business losing money they are going to get rid of people it’s as simple as that. This is just the tip of the iceberg.

Richard George: Nee money, nee jobs.

Andrew Marc Halverson: That’s only the start. Tory Chancellor Rishi Sunak and his boss Boris Johnson have told government departments to prepare massive spending cuts of at least 30% – and have given them just a handful of days to come up with them.

Norwich City agree '£350,000 deal' for Sunderland youngster Bali Mumba as new contract details emerge.

Ian Brewster: Right so in the last 3 seasons all we have done is sign free agents who ultimately leave us for nothing, making us no money and most have been rank awful, on the other hand we have made money from asoro, maja honeyman pickford mumba and all the other youth players. Big clubs have snapped up, how keep the good young players, give them game time and stop selling them off, then we don’t have to sign the poor free agent players and spend £1,300,000 on agent fees, then the club might go somewhere, but unfortunately it’s going to be a few season before we can look at promoting from the academy since all the good players have been sold off!

Darren Stephenson: He must not be as good as we think, if he was that good he surely could of pushed his way into the worst Sunderland team ever and don’t say well he had potential, we cant wait like Norwich for him to come good in 2-3 years time.

Tom Goodey: £350.000 is absolutely nothing for an England u19
