STORY: Retail workers are up to 75% more likely to die from Covid-19 but they aren’t required to wear masks in England.

-

Lisa Marie Baker:

Seriously if we the public can do anything to help stop the spread of this virus then please just do it, we all have a part to play to keep our country and our loved ones safe.

Angie O Pattison:

So retail employees are high risk but don’t have to wear a mask? Its all very contradicting. Also we can go to a restaurant or pub and not wear a mask?

Joanna Hindmarsh:

They’ll be saying next people who blink too much will pass from covid. We are all vulnerable no matter who you are it will take you, it’s how the person fights it, everyone is different.

Paul Emerson:

Considering for the vast majority of that group of the population who luckily are neither elderly or have underlying health conditions there is virtually no chance of dying of Covid saying that retail workers have 75% more chance of dying means very little as its 75% more than something that is a tiny risk in the first place. It's like saying that retail workers have a 75% more chance of dying of a lightning strike than Joe or Jane Bloggs.

George Conley:

Probably got more chance of winning the lottery!

Deborah Forster:

That’s a contradictory statement! We are more likely to die than most but we don’t have to wear a mask.

Sonya Colgin:

So I don't need to wear one but customers do, they are going to be kicking off.

Deborah Forster:

Wait for the abuse now from customers.

Marie Cudlipp:

At my work, the customers can't even stick to the 2 metres rule and then they say "ooo I forgot or I'm miles away". I get wrong for trying to keep them right. How can you forget ... It's been going on for long enough now.

Roddy Macpherson:

What I find is that I am going down an aisle in a shop, keeping my distance, and somebody in front suddenly decides to come back to where they have already been. Then there is the group plus a trolley, who spread across an aisle. Can't these fools just go into a shop and get their shopping without all the drama?
