Traders preparing to serve their first customers at STACK Seaburn say they’re proud to be part of the new seafront landmark.

Rosalind Grant: Drove along Seaburn sea front yesterday. Stack looks hideous. Like a warehouse on the sea front. Then drive to South South Shields. What a beautiful seafront. Gorgeous flowers, well kept places to eat.

Lyndsey Brown: Why are people so negative i personally think its a great idea something different i also think we should have the fair back to as i spent many of my child hood there but cant understand why people are so negative Patricia Rose Baker: I haven’t yet been to see it so can’t really comment but for me there is no where to park for something as large as this, parking already on a good day down at Seaburn is non existent.

Claire Duffy: I hope it is a big success but I think Seaburn needs more things for families not just food and drink places. I also hope the prices are reasonable otherwise after the initial few weeks novelty value units will start closing cos people won’t pay the prices.

Alan Miller: Needed a proper leisure centre not another monstrosity to ruin a lovely seafront and end up like the rusty old fountain on the roundabout for years. A complete and utter waste of money

Mike Holmes Lane: Sunderland has such negativity about things, more so on echo posts. Yes its made of metal but looks great, much better than a worn down leisure centre and waste land. It's investment in seaburn that can only be good.
