A b r i l l i a nt u n b eate n c e ntury from Joe Clarke guided Nottinghamshire Outlaws to their first victory of the 2020 season, defeating Durham by six wickets in their Vitality Blast North Group clash at Emirates Riverside.

Durham had set a challenging total as Graham Clark and Alex Lees scored h a l f - c e ntu r ie s , but th ey were blown away by the visitors to slump to their second defeat in the competition.

But they were scuppered by a fine knock from Clarke, who finished off the game in style with his eighth six to reach three figures for the second time against Durham and secure the Outlaws' first victory of the campaign.

Clark said: "It was a tough day for the bowlers because it was a good day to bat and we we re a l i ttl e b i t d i s ap - pointed not to get a few more runs.

"Hindsight is a wonderf u l th i n g . I put Jo e C l a rke down on eight and if I take that catch it's probably a different game.

"Sometimes it's your day and he really made us pay. Once they had that momentu m i t wa s toug h to s l ow them down.

"It looks bad on the scorecard, but when someone is p l ay i n g l i k e t h at a n d t h e wind is blowing the way that it wa s it's hard to get your plans right.

"O n a n o t h e r d ay i f w e take that catch, we're staring down a win. I've got to catch those, it's what we practice.

"I wa s d i s ap p o i nte d to drop that and I would have traded all of my 60 runs to catch it and for us to win the game.

"I was disappointed with th at , but you a l s o h ave to tip your hat and say that he played well."
