Wonderful Wood maintains his perfect start to Knack season

Tony Wood kept his 100% start to the Knack Darts Premier League season intact after two hard-fought victories over David Morris and Mark Wright with both games going the distance.

Morris hit two 180s and a best leg of 15 darts but a 100 finish and best legs of 14,15 and two 17 darters saw Wood edge it.

Wright hit a superb 161 checkout in a 12-darter plus two maximums but again Wood prevailed with a 5-3 win.

Southwick's Paul Williams remains at the top after two comfortabl­e 5-0 wins over Michael Naunton and Laura Patton, with a 136 finish in a 12-darter the highlight.

B a r r y Ruth e r fo rd wo n both his games on the night with a 5-0 success over Stephen Squire followed by a 5-3 win over Anth Skelton.

Matthew Hodgson also won both his games, with a 5-0 win over Andrew Ambler and a 5-1 victory over Graeme Hills, which included a maximum.

Claire Stamper picked up her first wins of the season without dropping a leg after 5-0 wins over Ross Guy and Andrew Ambler.

David Stokell fired in four 180s in a superb contest with Eddie Ashman along with a 101 checkout to prevail 5-2 w i th A s h m a n h i tt i n g t wo maximums of his own.

Stokell was involved in a brilliant second game, hitting a fifth 180 of the night but it

wasn't enough as Dave Prins claimed the three points in a 5-3 win with two 180s of his own and best legs of 12,14,15 and 17 darts.

John Watson remains unbeaten as he picked up four points with a 5-2 win over Dougie Hall and a 4-4 draw with Geordie Morton.

The latter was a comfortabl­e 5-0 winner over Stephen Squire in his second game.

Adam Atkinson also remains unbeaten after two draws, first up was Dave Prins and neither could be separated in a high quality encounter.

The impressive Dan Gillibrand was next and again a 4-4 draw was the outcome with Atkinson firing in a excellent 12-dart leg with a 130 finish.

Gillibrand hit two 180s and a best leg of 15 darts in his

opener and ran out a 5-3 winner over Mark Wright who replied with a maximum.

John Kippen moved up to fifth place with wins over Philly Dunn and a 5-3 win over Eddie Ashman.

The latter was an excellent game which saw Ashman hit three 180s and winning legs of 14,15 and 17 darts, with Kippen hitting a 180 and best legs of 17,18 and two 19 darters.

Cameron Anderson made it eight wins from eight with wins over Anth Skelton and Philly Dunn 5-2 and 5-1 respective­ly aided by two maximums.

Michael Naunton recovered from his early defeat to register his first point of the season with a 4-4 draw against Dan Mock.

Mock fared better in his other game with a 5-1 win

over Darren Patton helped by a maximum and a 116 finish in a 15-darter.

Patton replied with a 110 finish, he followed this up with a 5-1 win over Ross Guy.

Neil Rose gained six points with a 5-1 win over Laura Patton, followed by a 5-1 win over David Morris .

Graeme Hills was a 5-2 winner over Dougie Hall in the night’s other game .
