STORY: Four new coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Sunderland as cases across the North East rise by 95 in one day. Kit Todd:

And no one on my bus to work is wearing a mask this morning Well done everyone. I hate wearing them as a key worker I need to so again, well done. Christine Hall:

Well it doesn't surprise me at all if infection rates rise seeing everyone just huddled together not keeping distance this will never go away cos some people just think it's not around Susan Clementson Payne:

The elderly especially cant take chances always be alert. Do you think the whole world would just make this up. Everyone should take care then we won’t have any restrictions put on our city. Be sensible everybody, please.

CJ Collins:

To bring it down. Avoid getting tested do not give the govt the satisfaction and do not submit to their control resist their control. Simon Campbell:

But only 4 is Sunderland with a population of 277,000. The chances are you won’t catch it. Kieran Wilkinson:

That should reassure the four that did. Rose Wharton: 4 too many. Peter Bolton:

Social distancing has been largely ignored since the start of June (see: giant protests, street parties, etc). Despite this there has not been an increase in coronavirus hospital admissions (Google "COVID-19 hospital data gov UK"). We should focus on the number of hospital admissions, NOT the number of cases. If no one is in hospital, there is no problem. The longer the corona restrictions continue the poorer we and our children will be. Unemployment is already skyrocketing. Joanne Parker:

Peter Bolton, finally some one who talks sense I totally agree with you. Kieran Wilkinson:

Peter Bolton, hospital admissions doesn’t give us the full story. The most vulnerable people have been isolating for far longer that everyone else who was out protesting etc. Many are still isolating now. They are the most likely people to end up in hospital.
