Round-up of cases from the courts
The following cases from the Sunderland area were dealt with recently at South Tyneside Magistrates’ Court.
Rebecca Barnes ,27, of K el ham Square, S underland, was banned from driving for a year, fined £250 and ordered to pay a £34 victim surcharge and £85 prosecution costs after admitting drink driving on July 25.
Anna Maria Forrest, 37, of Henley Road, Sunderland, was fined £400 and ordered to pay £300 compensation, a £40 victim surcharge and £85 costs after admitting assaulting two female police officers on July 25.
Amy Stokoe ,28, of Swale dale Crescent, Penshaw, was banned from driving for 20 months, fined £140 and ordered to pay a £34 victim surcharge and £85 prosecution costs after admitting drink driving on July 25.
Patrick Turpin ,46, of West moor Road, S underland, was banned from driving for 14 months, fined £120 and ordered to pay a £34 victim surcharge and £85 prosecution costs after admitting drink driving on July 25.
Susan Margaret P lu se, 48, of Kent mere, Washington, was ordered to complete 200 hours unpaid work as part of a community order and to pay £110 compensation, a £90 victim surcharge and £85 prosecution costs after admitting stealing £110 from another woman on February 22.
Palwinder Singh, 39, of Bradwell Way, Philadelphia, was banned from driving for 29 months, ordered to complete 200 hours’ unpaid work as part of a community order and to pay £85 costs after admitting failing to provide a specimen of breath for examination on March 12.
